Previous High School Tournament Resolutions
These are resolutions from Canadian High School Tournaments. Those from 2011-12 and earlier are from the Quebec Student Debating Federation run by Mr. Chris George.
Queens 2015
Round 1 - This House would ban private rehabilitation programmes.
Round 2 - This House would protect the right to be "forgotten" from internet searches. (i.e., any person may request personal information about them to be deleted from search engines.)
Round 3 - This House, as a progressive female candidate, would not use conventional gender roles. (e.g., marketing oneself as a mother, as a wife) as a tactic in political campaigns.)
Round 4 - This House believes that media outlets ought not report the content of corporate documents which are suspected to be leaked by foreign governments.
Round 5 - This House, as an established art museum (eg, Louvre, Victoria & Albert), would opt to show works by lesser known artists at the expense of famous artists from the same time period.
Round 6 - This House would ban all faith based criminal rehabilitation and proselytization programs from prison.( to proselytize means to convert or attempt to convert someone from one religion or belief system to another.)
Octos - This house supports US military intervention in the Mexican Drug War.
Quarters - In April 2007, the British Home Office introduced PREVENT, an initiative to stop British Muslim youth from being lured into violent extremism. Muslim organizations in Britain would receive Prevent funding to organize “Spittin’ Light” hip-hop shows, where American and British Muslim rappers with “mainstream interpretations” of Islam would parade their talents. This House supports the British government's use of funding initiatives to moderate radical Islamist art subcultures.
Semis - In cases where a citizen dies at the hands of a police officer, This House believes that the officer ought be automatically indicted for manslaughter. (To indict is to bring a formal accusation against, as a means of bringing to trial.)
U16 Finals - This House believes that health charities ought not accept any donation from companies or individuals who produce or profit from the sale of goods which have harmful health effects (e.g., tobacco companies/fast food, etc.)
Finals - This House regrets the rise of "entertainment news". (e.g., The Daily Show, This Week Tonight, The O'Reilly Factor, etc.)
Junior National Debating Championships (Toronto):
Round 1 and 2 (Prepared) - THW not permit countries that violate human rights to host the Olympics.
Round 3 - This House regrets the annual commemoratation of past wars.
Round 4 - This house would require countries that are the largest polluters to take in environmental refugees.
Round 5 - This house believes that assassination is a legitimate tactic of foreign policy.
Round 6 - This house believes that parents should secretly install spyware on their children's electronic devices.
Semi-Finals - This house would impose a tax on low-brow entertainment in order to subsidize high-brow art.
Finals - Humans have developed the ability to travel through space (aka the Starship Enterprise). You discover an alien civilization with whom humans have had no prior contact. We have vastly superior technology and medicine. This House would not contact the alien civilization.
Senior National Debating Championships (Winnipeg):
Round 1 and 2 (Prepared) - This house believes that party leaders should be chosen by the caucus rather than the party membership.
Round 3 - This House believes that the ICC should be able to prosecute crimes against the environment.
Round 4 - If your child had the opportunity to become a star in the entertainment industry, this House would not let them.
Round 5 - This House believe that Walmart is good for the World.
Round 6 - This House believe that, save for segregation, prisons should simulate everyday life.
Quarter-Finals - THW ban voluntourism.
Semi-Finals - This House, as Russia, would invade Eastern Ukraine.
Finals - This house would require nations to look after an equivalent percentage of refugees as their share of global GDP

Round 1 -This house would separate classes in public school based on ability.
Round 2 -This house would ban players convicted of domestic violence or sexual assault from professional sports leagues.
Round 3 -This house would limit executive pay.

Quarter-Finals - This house regrets the influence of Facebook.
Semi-Finals - This house would let its physicians assist suicide.
Finals - This house would grant amnesty to Edward Snowden.

Round 1 - This house would ban government surveillance without a warrant.
Round 2 - This house would ban players convicted of domestic violence or sexual assault from professional sports leagues.
Round 3 - This house would not permit unpaid internships.
Round 4 - This house would not fire employees for their behaviour outside work hours.
Round 5 - This house would require companies that receive public funding to have an equal number of men and women directors.
Quarter-Finals - This house would not tell the terminally ill.
Semi-Finals - This house supports self determination.
Finals - This house would grant amnesty to Edward Snowden.
University of Ottawa (CP Style):
Round 1 - This House would ban media from the courtroom.
Round 2 - This House believes that development aid does more harm than good.
Round 3 - This House would pay teachers based on their students results on standardized testing.
Round 4 - This House would boycott the work of artists with morally abhorrent lives.
Round 5 - This House believes that politicians should be required to take a pill that prevents lying.
Semi-Finals - This House would give UN Peacekeepers the mandate use lethal force to protect civilians.
Junior-Finals - If This House had perfect knowledge that the world is going to it would not tell the rest the world.
Finals - There is a machine that will erase the memory of a person in a bad relationship. This House would use the machine.
